Ideas on removing spilled latex paint

I just purchased a used car that had been used as a work vehicle it looks like. One of the major issues is there is a nice big, about 1ft square, section of the rear seat and carpet that has had latex paint spilled on it and allowed to dry. What is the best way to get rid of this and restore the cloth/carpet to its former glory?

Hot water and fabric shampoo, you will probably have to scrape it loose.
