This subject has been debated on detailing forums all over the internet. Both Chemical Guys (Clean Slate) and Adams (Strip Wash) claim to have soaps that strip wax, but I've never seen it proven by either vendor. Some people say that if you mix some APC in with your normal wash, that will strip old wax. Again, never seen it proven. If you want a pristine, protection free surface, to me, you need to go as far as clay. I've actually seen this happen in my own experience.

    Isopropyl alcohol with remove wax.

I have also heard that regular Dish Washing Soap will remove old wax!

I heard these days no dish detergent, just use a cleaner wax.

    Another unproven urban legend

    +1 for CG Clean Slate

Clean Slate is the best product for the job. It is a deep surface cleanser that allows new wax, clear bras and vehicle wraps to stick directly to surface for superior long-lasting bond and protection.

    Happy Detailing!

I should've added that 20% alcohol solution is as high as you want to go. Straight alcohol will mar the paint.

I like Clean Slate and I also bet that Bug & Tar Shampoo will remove the wax also.
