For your first 'good' polisher, go with the Griots Garage 6" DA....known on detailing forums as the GG6. More power and less vibration than the PC, and considerably less money than the Rupes. Long-throw polishers are all the rage, but the GG6 is a perfect entry-level machine. Griots backs their products with a lifetime warranty, and this machine is quite capable of taking on just about anything the weekend warrior can throw at it. Buy the 5.5" conversion kit, put some Griots BOSS pads on there, and you're on your way.
