the main difference is the throw yes. The 10fx is a 8mm throw, and the 22d is 21mm. The larger throw allows for faster correcting, and you can really get some pretty impressive scratches out without having to wetsand. The 10fx would be better in tighter areas (as the 22d has the larger throw). I can't speak from experience about these two. I have a PorterCable 7424xp (8mm throw) that I've used for 2 years and its a great little machine once you figure out what you can and cant remove. I've recently picked up a Rupes 21 mkII and its a night and day difference. The finish is better, the correcting is faster, the defects it can remove in one pass is amazing. Once again, I can't really comment on how well the Torq tools work. But I went with the OG 21mm polisher, the Rupes 21.

I just received my torq 22d today and am very impressed. I have been detailing for about 10 years and this is a nice machine. The other difference is the motor. I believe the 10fx has a 700watt motor and the 22d has a 900watt motor.
